A 100 YEAR TRADITION EVOLVING INTO A NEW BEGINNING

Dear Friends,

The Jewish Community Center and the Jewish Federation have been serving the greater Bridgeport community for over 100 years. We are very proud of our accomplishments and grateful to the scores of volunteers and staff who have given of their time and talents to enhance the quality of our daily lives.

We are now embarking on a new and dramatic initiative in our community; one that is designed to better position our organizations to continue and improve the services and support we provide the community. In the months and years to come, a new, state of the art, campus facility will rise on the current Park Avenue site of the Jewish Community Center. This intergenerational campus will house the Jewish Federation, a community swimming pool and fitness center, an early childhood program, a kosher café, and the new home of Jewish Senior Services including assisted living and nursing home residences.

For the next several years during construction of our new home, the Jewish Federation of Eastern Fairfield County (JCCS) will have offices and programs in several locations. Merkaz, our high school, Jewish education program has its offices at Congregation Rodeph Sholom on the corner of Park and Capital Avenues. The Merkaz phone number is: 203-450-5303. Joining Merkaz at Rodeph Sholom are the offices of our young Israeli Emissaries and PJ Library. Additionally, the B’nai Brith Youth Organization groups that formerly met at the JCC are now meeting at Rodeph Sholom.
The Main Offices of the Federation (JCCS) are now located in Westport, sharing the current facilities of the UJA/Federation of Westport, Wilton, Weston, and Norwalk. Our phone number for information on all programs and activities remains the same: 203-372-6567. And my email address also remains the same: Steve@jccs.org

We anticipate launching a new web site in the near future that will contain regularly updated information and photos on the progress of our new campus building as well as a community calendar of events and program information. In the meantime, please contact me with any questions.

Sincerely,

Steven R. Wendell
