UJA-Federation and the Chaifetz Family bring PJ Library to Eastern Fairfield County!
The UJA-Federation of Eastern Fairfield County, the Harold Grinspoon Foundation and David and Edith Chaifetz have joined forces to bring a creative Jewish educational program to our community. It is called “The PJ Library.”
The Grinspoon Foundation has designed this wonderful program, which provides pre-school families with high quality Jewish books and music to create valuable bonding experiences at bedtime – or anytime! Reading stories and listening to music with children are among the most powerful and nurturing early childhood learning experiences.
The PJ Library can help transform these moments into Jewish experiences. Research indicates that Jewish experiences in the first five years establish the basis of your child’s Jewish sense of self. Through The PJ Library, parents can create a special time with their children to learn and appreciate their Jewish heritage. The PJ Library program is for children from 6 months to 6 years of age.
Due to the success of this program, the Grinspoons have made The PJ Library available to Federations across the county. David and Edith Chaifetz have made a special seed gift to the Federation to allow us to bring this program to our community.
The Chaifetz’s have along history of supporting vibrant Jewish life in the Eastern Fairfield County community. They are delighted to join forces with the UJA-Federation and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation in this newest initiative which aims to enrich family life with Jewish stories and songs.
A special PJ Library Fund had been set up with the Chaifetz’s gift to help support this program, and we aim to enroll the first 300 children that are registered this first year FREE OF CHARGE. It is our hope that with additional support, we will be able to continue this program far into the future.
It is never too early to create treasured Jewish memories with your family. Sign up your child, and tell your friends about The PJ Library. Introduce a new generation to the richness and depth of our Jewish heritage.
