ADULT AQUATICS

Adults enjoy Membership at the JCC in a number of ways, including the use of our indoor, heated pool for lap swimming or more challenging programs for those interested in perfecting their skills.

Click here to view our current Pool Schedule.  Please note that this schedule is subject to change, and we invite you to call or stop by the JCC to confirm any particular time period.

Dolphins Master’s Swim Practices -

Are you ready for some challenge to your swim training?  Do you need some help with your technique? Are you tired of swimming laps by yourself? Then come have a little fun & join the Master Swim Club.  Get coaching by expert competitive swimmers to bring your swimming fitness to a new level.

In addition to lap swimming, there are also a variety of classes designed for adults who are looking for low-impact exercise.  Perfect for muscular and joint strengthening, as well a cardiac health, these programs take advantage of the buoyant water environment that a pool offers.

Some of our classes may include:

Aquacize -

This water exercise class keeps the movements in the water basic, and emphasizes muscular/joint strengthening in the shallow end of the water.  No swimming ability is necessary.  Water shoes recommended.

Water Aerobics -

A fast paced water exercise that emphasizes cardio endurance while working muscular strength and flexibility, by utilizing the water’s resistance properties.  This class combines shallow water movements, using the core muscles to stabilize, as well as some deep-water exercises.

Deep Water Challenge -

People have learned the benefits of training in the water, being non-impact, and the total resistant properties of the deep end of the pool. The class is gentle on the joints, and challenging to the heart, lungs and musculature system.  This is great for runners; winter training; a cross-training avenue to those wanting to work out hard, without putting a lot of stress on the body.  A water belt is a necessity - Non swimmers stay afloat and benefit from the water’s resistance training!

Please review our JCC Program Guide for a list of Swim classes and schedules, and to select the program that is right for you.
